Edge PR97™ Industrial Smelter Coat and Smelter Hood

Description

PR97™ is made from natural fibres, which are inherently flame retardant. The fabric has been developed specifically to maximise protection against hot metal splashes. PR97™ has a natural blend of wool and FR Viscose fibres providing built in protection that cannot be laundered out. And because PR97™ is made from natural fibres, it breathes and transports moisture away from the skin helping to maximise wearer comfort in all conditions.

The Smelter Coat is highly recommended for use in aluminium, iron and steel smelters, electric utilities and heavy industry environments. The 500gsm weight PR97™ smelter coat acts as an additional protective layer over a PR97™ shirt. The garment features a crew neck, a stud front with a Velcro secured overlap and Velcro sleeve closures. The garment is generously sized for wearing over under layers and is manufactured from 500gsm weight PR97™ denim and orange. The orange component provides daytime high visibility safety.

The Smelter Hood is highly recommended for use in aluminium, iron and steel smelters, electric utilities and heavy industry environments. The 320gsm weight PR97™ smelter hood provides additional protection in extreme environments where there is risk of injury from intense heat, flame and molten metal splash. The garment provides an additional layer of protection around the neck and across the shoulders. It is manufactured as one piece and provides daytime high visibility safety.

• Smelter Coat - crew neck with stud front and Velcro secured overlap and Velcro sleeve closures. Garment top (from lower chest up, front and back) and sleeves (above elbow, front and back) constructed from Orange 500gsm weight PR97™. Remainder of garment constructed from Denim 500gsm weight PR97™.
• Smelter Hood - constructed entirely from Orange 320gsm weight PR97™ as one piece garment.
• PR97™ Orange AS/NZS 4602:1999 compliant for daytime use.
• PR97™ tested to International Standards for performance against flame spread, convective and radiant heat, molten aluminium and iron splash and electric arc (Arc Thermal Performance Value - ASTM and NFPA 70 E).
