Run-off and burn through/ignition test results
Independent Secondary Protective Clothing tests have been conducted by Indalloy
Casting Group of Ontario, Canada. Indalloy is a division of Indalex Ltd, North America's and one
of the world's largest suppliers of aluminium extrusion components and services. Their tests found as follows:
A stand was set up consisting of a thin painted steel sheet angled at 65° and running into a steel pit sow.
Run-off Test
For the run-off tests the sample was draped over the steel sheet and approximately 0.5 kg
of molten aluminium at approximately 1350°F (732°C) was poured over it.

Burn Through/Ignition Test
For the burn through/ignition tests the material was placed in the steel pit
sow and approximately 0.5 kg
of molten aluminium was poured on and allowed to
sit until the material ignited or burned through.
